Référé liberté rejeté : Ismaïla Madior Fall maintenu sous bracelet électronique
The lawyers for Ismaïla Madior Fall, former Minister of Justice, were at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, as part of their emergency appeal for release seeking the removal of the electronic bracelet imposed on their client.
According to Seneweb, the high court rejected the request as well as the exception of unconstitutionality raised by the defense.
The lawyers for the former Minister of Justice believe that wearing an electronic bracelet, combined with house arrest, constitutes a form of detention that has become unjustified. They consider this measure to be bordering on arbitrary, even though the investigation has been closed by the High Court of Justice's investigating committee.
Furthermore, Ismaïla Madior Fall's lawyers have appealed to the ECOWAS Court of Justice to denounce what they consider to be a violation of their client's rights.
