15 à 20 ans de prison : le cambriolage du domicile d’un ancien khalife des mourides risque de coûter cher aux huit voleurs
Eight individuals appeared before the Dakar Criminal Court on Tuesday. They are accused of criminal conspiracy and group robbery involving the use of weapons and violence, reports L'AS, which attended the hearing.
The events date back to March 2019, the same source rewinds, when the armed and violent gang robbed several shops in the HLM market, and even the home of the former Caliph General of the Mourides, Serigne Sidy Moctar Mbacké. The thugs then stole more than 20 million CFA francs, in addition to numerous cell phones and computers.
Despite partial confessions during the investigation, most of the accused denied the charges in court, citing police brutality. However, the prosecution, highlighting the repeat offenses of some, requested 20 years in prison for the main defendants and 15 years for the receiver.
The verdict will be delivered on November 11, reports L'AS.
