Affaire Ass Dione : vers de nouvelles plaintes pour...
The renowned religious singer Ass Dione, whose legal situation is already precarious, is becoming increasingly embroiled in a series of visa fraud cases. According to Libération, the list of his alleged victims could grow even longer.
The newspaper reveals that other people, who claim to have been scammed using the same method through the singer's travel agency, are planning to come forward soon. These new complaints could thus multiply the legal actions already underway against him.
Meanwhile, Ass Dione was served with a second arrest warrant after being taken from prison by the Keur Massar Research Brigade. He will be tried on June 22nd before the Pikine-Guédiawaye court for having received a 500,000 FCFA down payment from a jeweler, A. Diack, to whom he had promised a job in Spain that never materialized.
This new procedure adds to an already heavy legal burden. Since last March, Dione has been incarcerated in the case involving Pape Cheikh Diallo and others.
Last May, the same source recalls, he had already been placed under arrest warrant and then sentenced to six months in prison, including one month of actual imprisonment, for having extorted more than two million francs from two other candidates for the trip.
