Affaire Ecotra-CDC : le procureur ordonne l’ouverture d’une enquête et la convocation de « Lamignou Darou »
The media confrontation between Abdoulaye Sylla, head of Ecotra, and Fadilou Keïta, director general of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), has now taken a legal turn. The Dakar Public Prosecutor's Office has sent two requests to the Urban Security Division to investigate cross-accusations of embezzlement and defamation, reports L'Observateur.
At the heart of the conflict: the CDC's two billion CFA francs, according to the same source. The newspaper recalls that the affair erupted after a broadcast on the web TV channel Sans Limites, during which Fadilou Keïta, announcing a lawsuit, accused Ecotra of illegally appropriating land and embezzling funds. The company vigorously contested these claims, calling them "false" and intended to damage its reputation. In turn, lawyer Demba Ciré Bathily filed a lawsuit on behalf of Ecotra against Fadilou Keïta and the web TV channel for defamation and spreading false information.
The Urban Security Unit is now tasked with verifying the facts, comparing the accounts of the parties involved, and determining any potential criminal liability. The upcoming hearings of Fadilou Keïta, the head of the Web TV station, and C. Ndiaye, representing Abdoulaye Sylla, will be crucial, according to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.
A second legal front against "Lamignou Darou"
Meanwhile, L'Observateur reports that a second summons from the Public Prosecutor's Office targets Manoumbé Diop, better known by his pseudonym "Lamignou Darou." Member of Parliament and businessman Abdoulaye Sylla filed a new complaint after a TikTok video surfaced in which Diop called him a "liar" and accused him of improperly receiving his parliamentary salary while residing outside of Senegal. The Urban Security Division has been ordered to summon the TikToker to answer these accusations of defamation and slander.
