Affaire Prodac : bras de fer entre le juge et le parquet financier sur le sort de Mamina Daffé
The fate of former Prodac coordinator Mamina Daffé remains uncertain following a standoff between the judge and the financial prosecutor's office. The former head of the program, who has been in pretrial detention since November 2024 on charges of embezzlement of public funds, forgery and use of forged private bank documents, and money laundering, has been granted provisional release for medical reasons. This decision was granted by the judge based on an expert assessment, according to Libération in its Wednesday, April 22nd edition.
However, the same source specifies that the financial prosecutor's office, opposed to this measure, immediately appealed. Consequently, Mamina Daffé remains in detention pending the decision of the Financial Indictment Chamber, which has now taken over the case.
This development comes as the investigation continues to expand. In the same case, Pape Malick Ndour, the former Minister of Youth under Macky Sall, was charged following a supplementary indictment. Unlike Mamina Daffé, he was placed under judicial supervision and fitted with an electronic bracelet, the daily newspaper reports.
