*Expected before the judge this Friday: What wrestler Ama Baldé told the Keur Massar Research Brigade* The Keur Massar gendarmerie company's research brigade has practically completed its investigation following the arrest of wrestler Ama Baldé. He will be brought before the investigating judge of the 1st chamber at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court this Friday, barring any changes to the schedule. Ama Baldé was taken into custody the previous day. He is accused of assault and battery, insulting a police officer in the performance of their duties, and resisting arrest. Assisted by his lawyers, Aly Ndiaye and Souleymane Soumaré, the wrestler denied, during his hearing, having injured the police warrant officer on duty at the Pikine district police station at the time of the incident. He reportedly did, however, admit to the altercation he had with the officer. When questioned about his stay in France, where he resided for nearly a year, Ama Baldé told investigators that he had gone there for medical reasons, according to Seneweb sources. *Background* The wrestler was arrested in Pikine by the Keur Massar Criminal Investigation Brigade (BR) the day after his triumphant return from France, under a judicial warrant issued by the investigating judge of the 1st chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court. This was in connection with events dating back to May 2025. A man named Julo, the wrestler's nephew, had been implicated in an assault case. According to the victim's complaint, his motorcycle and chain had been stolen. To get to the bottom of this affair, police officers from the Pikine district station went to the Baldé family home to serve a summons on the suspect, who had been caught smoking marijuana in the living room. Ama Baldé and his older brother, Pathé Baldé, resisted the arrest of their nephew, the wrestler, even coming to blows with a police warrant officer. Taking advantage of the confusion, Julo fled. A search of his room yielded fourteen packets of marijuana and a pair of scissors. Before reinforcements arrived, the two brothers had also left the family home. The warrant officer, who led the police operation, sustained a minor hand injury, documented by a medical certificate attesting to a seven-day period of temporary incapacity for work. Despite a travel ban, Ama Baldé managed to leave the country for France. Meanwhile, his older brother, Pathé Baldé, who was arrested by police in front of the National Arena, was reportedly released after his time in custody. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko had then requested the opening of a judicial inquiry. *Mor Mbaye CISSÉ*
