Affaire Aziz Dabala : Coumba Gawlo dément tout lien et brandit une plainte
Senegalese artist Coumba Gawlo has strongly refuted rumors circulating on social media linking her to the double murder of Abdou Aziz Ba and Wally Gano. In an official statement released this Friday, her legal team denounced these "serious, false allegations, devoid of any factual or legal basis."
In a statement received by Seneweb, the lawyers remind everyone that Ms. Coumba Gawlo "has absolutely no connection, direct or indirect, material or moral, with the said case" and that any attempt to associate her with it constitutes a "clear attack on her honor, her consideration, her reputation and her image".
The lawyers are demanding that "any natural or legal person, author, co-author or intermediary", including influencers and media, "immediately and unconditionally cease any citation, mention or reference" to the artist's name in connection with this case, and remove "any publication, broadcast, statement, video, audio, comment or content" establishing such a connection.
A complaint will be filed tomorrow with the competent court in Barcelona against the tiktoke user Elhadji Malick, known under the pseudonym "Choco Nostress", as well as against any person identified as relaying these allegations, for "defamation, damage to honor, slanderous denunciation and dissemination of false information".
The statement insists: "Freedom of expression cannot in any way cover or justify defamatory, false or offensive remarks against the dignity of others," and specifies that additional legal actions, civil or criminal, could be taken against the perpetrators and accomplices.
The press release is signed by Francisco García Bayona, lawyer at the Barcelona Court, and by Mamadou Djiby Diallo and Gaye, lawyers at the Dakar Court.
