Bracelet électronique annulé : Pape Malick Ndour contre-attaque
The case is escalating. After the setback suffered before the Indictment Chamber, Pape Malick Ndour's lawyers, led by Me Antoine Mbengue, filed an appeal to the Court of Cassation this Thursday.
Through this approach, reports Les Échos, the defense is firmly contesting the decision made last Wednesday: the Chamber of Indictment had then cancelled the placement under electronic bracelet of the former minister - initially granted by the investigating judge - to follow the requests of the Financial Prosecutor's Office demanding a detention order.
Since the appeal suspends the sentence, the national coordinator of the Convergence of APR Executives is, for the time being, spared from imprisonment. His legal situation remains unchanged pending the Supreme Court's decision. His lawyers now have fifteen days to file their briefs with the Criminal Chamber of the high court, which will have the final say in this case, the same source concludes.
