Fonds Covid : l'ancienne DAGE de Moustapha Diop reste en prison
The former Director of General Administration and Equipment (DAGE) of the Ministry of Industrial Development and SMEs, Ndèye Aminata Loum Ndiaye, remains in detention in connection with the Covid-19 Funds case. Libération reports that the Public Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal against the provisional release order issued in her favor.
The newspaper recalls that the Indictment Division of the Dakar Court of Appeal had upheld the investigating judge's order granting provisional release to the accused. However, with this appeal, the Supreme Court is now seized of the case, which has the effect of keeping the former DAGE in detention pending the decision.
Defense reaction
Ndèye Aminata Loum Ndiaye's lawyer, Abou Alassane Diallo, quoted by the same source, expressed his incomprehension at the prosecutor's decision. He recalled that the Financial Disciplinary Chamber of the Court of Auditors had concluded that his client had committed no wrongdoing in this case.
Meanwhile, several other people are being prosecuted in this case, including former minister Moustapha Diop, who is being brought before the High Court of Justice for embezzlement, corruption, money laundering, and criminal conspiracy. The case concerns alleged irregularities in the management of the 2.5 billion CFA francs allocated to the acquisition of masks during the pandemic, with a discrepancy of 2.3 million masks between the number declared purchased and the number actually distributed.

De 936 millions, l’accusation est tombée à 12 millions dont les justificatifs seraient même disponibles.
