Saliou Mbaye alias "Zale Mbaye" and Mrs. Nogaye Dieng are in the hands of the public prosecutor. They are being prosecuted for defamation, illegal collection of personal data and public insults to the detriment of the trader Laya Diallo. The latter filed a complaint last February with the Special Cybersecurity Division, which proceeded to arrest them.
Laya Diallo accuses Zale Mbaye and Nogaye Dieng of defaming her via TikTok, even though she disagreed with the organization of a birthday party for a woman named Fanta Mboup. The accused did not accept this.
In revenge, Zale Mbaye and Nogaye Dieng went live on the social network TikTok to call her a prostitute. Worse, Zale Mbaye also posted her photo and phone number, presenting her as a woman with AIDS.
When summoned, Mr. Mbaye unequivocally admitted the facts, explaining that he had acted in this way as a form of retaliation following the complainant's statements, after Fanta Mboup's birthday, calling him a homosexual during a broadcast.
As for Nogaye Dieng, she claimed to have acted in anger and that her comments were not directed at the complainant. However, the accused admitted to having fabricated all the accusations against the complainant.
Following the investigation, Saliou Mbaye and Nogaye Dieng were taken to the Dakar public prosecutor's office.
