Discours contraire aux bonnes mœurs : Allassane “Bou Sonko” condamné à 15 jours ferme
Pastef/Les Patriotes activist Allassane Fall, also known as “Bou Sonko,” appeared before the Dakar court for flagrant offenses on charges of making offensive remarks. He was arrested last Friday by the Colobane research unit following comments he made during a live social media broadcast that were deemed insulting to the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, and certain members of parliament from the presidential coalition, whom he accuses of betraying their leader, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
In court, Allassane Fall stood by his statements before offering his apologies. The public prosecutor requested a six-month prison sentence, with three months to be served. The defense, led by attorney Famara Faty, pleaded guilty and asked the court for leniency.
In fine, the court declared the defendant guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison, including 15 days of actual imprisonment.
