Trafic de drogue à Mbour
The research brigade (BR) of Saly, attached to the gendarmerie company of Mbour, proceeded this Wednesday, May 27, 2026, to take into custody T.KA, a 54-year-old shepherd, presented as the true owner of the drugs seized last January off the coast of Senegal.
It all began in January 2026, when the gendarmes of the Saly BR (Brigade de Recherches - Research Brigade) seized a shipment of narcotics during the arrest of a certain A. Thiaré and some of his accomplices. The investigation quickly revealed that he was merely the operational link in the network: his role was limited to piloting a pirogue, presumably used to transport the merchandise along the coastline.
The investigation has established that the seized cargo actually belonged to a third party, identified as T KA, residing in the Caritas neighborhood of Joal. A warrant for his arrest was immediately issued, according to Seneweb sources close to the court.
It took the gendarmes nearly five months to apprehend the suspect. He was finally arrested by the Joal gendarmerie brigade before being transferred to the Saly brigade for further proceedings.T.KA is married and a father of three. A shepherd by profession, his profile contrasts sharply with the usual image of major traffickers, but the evidence from the investigation points to him as the main instigator of the operation.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, T.KA was brought before the investigating judge of the 2nd chamber of the Mbour High Court, under judicial delegation from the same magistrate. He is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy and domestic drug trafficking.
