Enquête sur les violences politiques : La femme du défunt François Mancabou auditionnée
Investigators in the political violence case are continuing to interview the victims' families. According to Seneweb, Clémentine Coly, wife of the deceased François Mancabou, was questioned yesterday, Tuesday, at the investigation section of the Colobane gendarmerie. According to our sources, a certain Abdoulaye Keita was also questioned the same day.
François Mancabou died in 2022 while in custody as part of the investigation into the so-called "Special Forces" affair. At a press conference at the time, Public Prosecutor Amary Diouf indicated that the 51-year-old man, arrested at his home on June 17, was part of a group called "Special Forces," composed of around ten people. He was allegedly tasked with "developing attack and harassment strategies against the defense and security forces."
According to the prosecutor, François Mancabou "violently hit the wall and the bars of the holding cell." "Investigators have 13 minutes of video footage," he told the press.
The forensic report concluded that there was a "fracture of the cervical spine leading to neurological complications", without finding any traces of external violence on the body.
However, Mancabou's family disputes this version and claims that his death was caused by torture. His lawyers had also requested a counter-autopsy.
