Demande d'extradition de Madiambal Diagne : verdict attendu aujourd'hui, trois scénarios possibles
Madiambal Diagne faces his destiny. The Versailles Court of Appeal will deliver its decision on February 3rd on the extradition request for the Senegalese journalist and businessman made by the State of Senegal, reports L'Observateur.
During the hearing on November 25, the same source recalls, the French court chose to postpone its ruling in order to request further information from Dakar. The judges had requested detailed information on the alleged offenses and their precise legal classification. They had also requested the applicable statutes of limitations, the rules concerning the statute of limitations to verify the admissibility of the prosecution, and clear guarantees regarding the procedural protections the individual would receive in Senegal. Clarification on the administrative process followed by the extradition request had also been demanded.
As it stands, the Futurs Médias Group's daily newspaper emphasizes that the atmosphere remains marked by a profound divergence between the parties. While the State of Senegal maintains that the responses provided are sufficient and in line with the Court's expectations, the defense strongly contests this position. Madiambal Diagne's lawyers believe that ambiguities persist regarding the criminal nature of the facts and continue to cite a risk of unfair treatment.
Unless the deliberations are extended again, the newspaper deduces, the investigating chamber could decide according to three scenarios. It could issue a favorable opinion on extradition, which would compel Madiambal Diagne to return to Senegal. Conversely, an unfavorable opinion would end the proceedings on French soil. Finally, the judges could decide to request further information if they believe they do not yet have all the necessary elements to make a ruling.

Aussi, je me demande pourquoi tout ce cirque. Madiambal est un ancien auxiliaire de justice. S'il refuse de déférer à son ancien corps de métier, utilisant le faux pour se dérober et disant lui-même qu'il a fui juste le temps de se préparerais tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour qu'il soit ramené, sous escorte et avec des menottes. Le Sénégal n'a pas de police politique mais une Police républicaine! Madiambal est un justifiable et il doit faire face à la plainte de son fils. La France NE PEUT PAS le garder!
