Extradition vers le Sénégal : Le verdict de Versailles tombe pour Madiambal Diagne
The Versailles Court of Appeal has ruled in the extradition case between the State of Senegal and journalist Madiambal Diagne. In a judgment issued on March 3, 2026, the French court ordered the partial extradition of Madiambal Diagne.
The court therefore gave a favorable opinion on the surrender of some of the facts referred to in the extradition request made by Senegal, while rejecting others, in accordance with the principle of specialty and the control of double criminality in matters of extradition.
Dissatisfied with this decision, Madiambal Diagne's lawyers, Ousmane Thiam and Philippine Vaganay (Bourdon law firm), immediately announced their intention to file an appeal with the Court of Cassation. This appeal does not automatically suspend the execution of the judgment, but it aims to challenge its legal validity, particularly regarding the interpretation of applicable laws and the respect for procedural safeguards. The outcome of this appeal will be crucial for Madiambal Diagne's fate.
