Le pool d'avocats de Farba Ngom dénonce une "manipulation grotesque"
Farba Ngom's legal team has issued a categorical denial of allegations circulating on social media. These posts allegedly attributed to their client's statements that he approached Mr. Ciré Clédor Ly to offer him the sum of one hundred million CFA francs to participate in his defense.
A "totally false" allegation
In a press release dated August 17, 2025, the lawyers' pool described this allegation as "grotesque" and "totally false." Farba Ngom's lawyers denounced what they considered "yet another manipulation to tarnish Mr. Farba Ngom's reputation in the eyes of a certain public."
The denial states that Mr. Ngom "never had any contact with Me Ciré Clédor Ly and does not know the address of his office, let alone his telephone contacts."
Farba Ngom was charged and remanded in custody on February 27, 2025. He is being prosecuted for fraud involving public funds and money laundering amounting to 31 billion CFA francs.
Faced with these "rumors", Mouhamadou Ngom, known as Farba, "wishes to formally deny this gross allegation and takes this opportunity to thank and salute the group of his lawyers who are working with commitment, generosity and professionalism to ensure his defense."
The press release finally emphasizes that Farba Ngom "renews her confidence in her lawyers and in the justice system."
