The 33-year-old TikToker Pathé Ba, known as "Souss," appeared before the Pikine-Guediawaye Magistrates' Court on November 12, 2025. He was being prosecuted for inciting drug use through videos posted on social media. In the videos, which went viral, he appeared in a live TikTok broadcast where he made ambiguous comments about ecstasy use: "Ma tay souss, ma tay zimbré ma tay" (My day Souss, my day Zimbré, my day). According to investigators, his videos encouraged young people to use drugs.

In court, Pathé Ba admitted to using drugs, but clarified that he never intended to incite the public. "It was just once, I was drunk that day. I was responding to those who were insulting me on the live stream," he stated, before adding that he had bought the drugs from Joe, Papa, and Mamie, who live in the Cité Mixta neighborhood. He said he started with one pill before taking up to four.

The defendant claimed to have stopped using drugs and to be ready to undergo detoxification treatment in Mbao, supported in this by footballer Pape Matar Sarr, who allegedly promised to finance his treatment.

His lawyer, Mr. Thioye, pleaded for leniency, describing him as an immature young man suffering from visible mental health issues. The defense argued that no legal evidence supported the charge of inciting drug use, suggesting instead that the defendant had simply used drugs personally.

The public prosecutor determined that the facts were consistent. With video evidence as evidence, the prosecution requested a guilty verdict for inciting the illegal use of narcotics. The prosecutor asked for a three-month prison sentence. In its deliberations, the court found Pathé guilty and sentenced him to six months' imprisonment, suspended.
