Justice : Abdou Mbow dénonce les critiques répétées d’Ousmane Sonko
Abdou Mbow believes that Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko's repeated criticisms of the judicial institution stem more from a personal dispute than from a desire for reform.
In a statement made public on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the parliamentarian asserts that these attacks originate from the refusal of the justice system to yield to political pressure.
"The attacks against the justice system are explained by the fact that it refuses to bow down to carry out political tasks," writes Abdou Mbow, not without mentioning the rejection of "the validation of an impossible candidacy for 2029."
Parliamentary group member Takku Wallu denounces the sweeping attacks on magistrates, which he considers contrary to republican principles. "Insulting magistrates bound by a duty of discretion is an act of boundless irresponsibility and a lack of dignity," he argues, calling on the Prime Minister to reveal names if he believes wrongdoing has occurred.
Concerned about the economic consequences of Sonko's rhetoric, Abdou Mbow believes it undermines the country's attractiveness. "How can he convince investors to come to Senegal while claiming the country is plagued by a flawed justice system?" he asks, emphasizing that legal certainty remains a crucial factor for investors.
From this perspective, Mr. Mbow invites Ousmane Sonko to change his stance. "He is no longer in the opposition," he asserts, believing that "we should not weaken the judicial institution, the guarantor of social balance," even less so "on foreign soil."
As a reminder, Abdou Mbow is reacting to the remarks made by the head of government to Senegalese people living in Morocco, where the latter declared that "one of the fundamental problems of the country is justice".

C'est soit une carence congénitale d'occuper la fonction soit une volonté de faire de tous des mouton.
Mais dans l'un ou l'autre des cas c'est pas bon pour le pays.
Au Gabon et ailleurs, des magistrats qui se sont enrichis illicitement sont jugés. Pourquoi, au Sénégal, les magistrats se prennent-ils pour des citoyens entièrement à part ? De Mamadou Dia à Sonko, ce sont des magistrats corrompus qui ont été complices et ont contribué à fausser le jeu démocratique pour leurs propres intérêts, et vous voulez qu’ils ne soient pas critiqués ?
Personne ne les a forcés à exercer ce métier : soit ils rendent la justice au nom du peuple, soit ils démissionnent. C’est aussi simple que cela.
On n'a pas lutté pour ça. On ne les a élu pour ça.
