The parliamentary timetable is accelerating regarding accountability cases. The National Assembly will begin a crucial procedure next week targeting two former members of the government.
The process will begin this Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The Committee on Laws, Decentralization, Labor, and Human Rights will meet to examine the draft resolutions for the impeachment of former ministers Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, former Minister of Health, and Moussa Bocar Thiam, former Minister of Communication, before the High Court of Justice. This committee stage is an essential technical and legal prerequisite before the plenary session.
The final stage of this parliamentary procedure is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026. Starting at 11:00 AM, all members of parliament will convene in plenary session at the National Assembly to examine these draft resolutions. If these resolutions are adopted by the parliamentarians, they will officially pave the way for prosecutions before the High Court of Justice, the only body authorized to try ministers for acts committed in the exercise of their duties.
