Kaffrine : Deux ans de prison, dont trois mois ferme pour vol de moto
AB, 28, appeared yesterday before the Kaffrine High Court for motorcycle theft. According to the plaintiff, the motorcycle's disappearance had been reported in several WhatsApp groups of local mechanics. It was through this channel that the motorcycle was located in a mechanic's workshop in Diokoul Mbelbouck. The defendant was apprehended there by a local security officer, who then alerted the gendarmerie.
In court, AB admitted to the charges against him. However, he stated that he had not acted on his own initiative, before asking the court for leniency and promising not to repeat the offense.
In his closing argument, the prosecutor requested the strict application of the law.
After deliberation, the court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to two years' imprisonment, including three months of mandatory imprisonment.
