LE SÉNÉGAL SACRÉ CHAMPION DE LA 2ᵉ ÉDITION DU CONCOURS DE PLAIDOIRIE DE LA COUR DE JUSTICE DE LA CEDEAO

The 2nd edition of the ECOWAS Court of Justice Regional Moot Court Competition concluded this Friday, May 22, 2026 in Dakar with a high-level final that brought together the best university delegations from the West African sub-region.

After several days of competition marked by elimination phases, intense semi-finals and quality academic exchanges, the grand final pitted the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar against the Faculty of Law of the University of Lomé representing Togo.

Following the jury's deliberations, the Senegalese delegation from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar won this 2nd edition of the competition thanks to the remarkable performances of GANO Fatoumata and MBOUP Pape Mor.

The Faculty of Law of the University of Lomé, represented by ANANI Oreta Tchotcho and AGOSSOU Agnus Dei Consecrato, takes the title of vice-champion of this edition.

The Best Dissertation prize was awarded to the National School of Administration and Magistracy of the University of Abomey-Calavi (Benin), represented by KEGUE Brice Ardèche and KODJOGBE Ashley Ingrid Murielle Tamegnon.

The distinction of Best Speaker went to GANO Fatoumata from the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, praised for the quality of her plea, her legal mastery and her eloquence before the jury.

Organized at the Supreme Court of Senegal, this final brought together institutional authorities, academics, members of the judiciary, students and guests around an event placed under the sign of legal excellence and regional integration.

Under the theme: "Today's students, tomorrow's lawyers",

This regional competition, organised by the ECOWAS Court of Justice, aims to strengthen the practical skills of law students, promote community law and encourage the emergence of a new generation of African lawyers.

This edition brought together university delegations from Benin, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Senegal and Togo, with Cabo Verde participating as an observer country.

The awards ceremony marked the official closing of this 2nd edition, which was praised for the quality of its organization and the level of academic and oratorical performances of the participants.

    Elle n’est pas organisée par la cour suprême du Sénégal . Elle s’est plutôt tenue À la cour suprême du Sénégal . C’est la cour de justice de la Cedeao qui est l’organisatrice de ce concours
