LITIGE FONCIER ENTRE QVS ET NOUVELLE VILLE : La justice tranche définitivement en faveur de la Nouvelle Ville
The land dispute between Qualité Végétale Sénégal (QVS) and the company Nouvelle Ville has reached an unequivocal legal conclusion. In a decision rendered on December 24, 2025, the Thiès Court of Appeal upheld all previous rulings, definitively establishing Nouvelle Ville's rights to the entire disputed area (110 hectares).
The judgment orders QVS to vacate the entire site it occupies, deeming its continued presence there unlawful. It imposes a penalty of 500,000 CFA francs per day of delay, starting from Thursday, January 15, 2026, the date the decision was served. The court also rejects all of QVS's claims, upholds the lower court's decision in its entirety, and orders the company to pay the costs of the appeal.
The clarity of its wording leaves no room for alternative interpretations regarding the rights of the parties. It puts an end to attempts to challenge the authority of the judgment, after several weeks of debate and controversy surrounding the case.
The Republic of Senegal has therefore ordered all bailiffs upon request to execute this decision.
This judgment comes in a context marked by notable interference, including public political stances.
