Vidéo de nudité et extorsion : Pourquoi le procureur a bloqué la sortie d'Abdoulaye Seck.
The Dakar Magistrates' Court heard the case of El Hadji Abdoulaye Seck, son of former Prime Minister Idrissa Seck. The defendant is being prosecuted for attempted extortion, possession of indecent images, and obtaining undue advantages to the detriment of Ms. Amar. The trial was adjourned until May 11 for the appearance of the plaintiff.
In court, the defense, comprised of lawyers Abou Abdoul Daff and Alioune Badara Fall, requested provisional release. In his closing argument, Mr. Fall emphasized that Pape Abdoulaye Seck denies the charges against him and that the plaintiff has failed to produce any evidence to support its allegations. His client has a valid residence. Mr. Daff added that there is no risk of witness tampering and that the defendant has committed to appearing at the next hearing.
The court sought the opinion of the public prosecutor, who opposed the defense's request. According to the prosecution, the defendant sent a nude video to the plaintiff and admitted to forwarding the message. The prosecutor argued that the facts were extremely serious. Maintaining that the threat to public order had not been resolved, he requested that the case be dismissed.
In rendering its decision, the court rejected the request for provisional release.
