Omart City : 200 victimes supplémentaires, deux ans de prison requis contre la fausse tante de Diomaye Faye
The Pikine-Guédiawaye court has heard the case of the massive "Omart City" real estate scam, which affected more than 3,000 victims across the country. During the latest hearing, 200 new people joined the case as civil parties.
The main defendant, Abdoulaye Mamadou Guissé, president of Omart City Senegal, appeared alongside his alleged accomplices: Pape Boubacar Camara, his chief of staff, and Khady Faye, who posed as the aunt of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. They are being prosecuted for fraud, money laundering, and other charges after selling fictitious social housing to victims who paid between 5,500 and 6,000 CFA francs.
The prosecution has requested a three-year prison sentence for Abdoulaye Mamadou Guissé, and a two-year sentence for his two alleged accomplices. The verdict is expected on October 14, Libération reported in its Wednesday, September 10, edition.
