Garde à vue de Pape Mahawa Diouf : Pape Malick Ndour dénonce un « deux poids, deux mesures » et exige sa libération
The Alliance for the Republic (APR) is taking a stand after the party's deputy spokesperson, Pape Mahawa Diouf, was taken into custody at the premises of the Special Cybersecurity Division.
Pape Malick Ndour, a member of the APR, strongly denounced this measure, which he considers "deeply unjust."
A measure deemed unfair and disproportionate
"The detention of the deputy spokesperson of the APR, our comrade Pape Mahawa Diouf, is profoundly unjust, especially since it is based on simple allegations of spreading false news," wrote Pape Malick Ndour.
For the head of the APR, if questions really arise about the case of the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER), it is up to the justice system to act: "If there is real news concerning the ASER case, it is up to the financial prosecutor to open a transparent investigation in order to inform us."
Pape Malick Ndour points to what he considers to be differential treatment based on political affiliation. "Meanwhile, Pastef, its activists, and its horde of wazalendos engage in the spread of false information all day long without ever being truly worried, thus revealing a double standard that weakens the rule of law and the credibility of our institutions," he denounced.
Call for immediate release
The APR member concluded by calling for the release of Pape Mahawa Diouf: "We demand the immediate release of our comrade Pape Mahawa Diouf and call on the judicial authorities to demonstrate impartiality, justice and responsibility in the handling of legal cases."
