Seneweb has learned a little more about the Prodac affair. The former coordinator of the program, Pape Malick Ndour, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) in connection with a case of alleged embezzlement of public funds amounting to more than 2 billion CFA francs.

According to our sources, Pape Malick Ndour was first arrested by the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) before being issued a travel ban preventing him from leaving the country. The coordinator of the APR (Alliance for the Republic) cadres was then questioned by investigators.

Following his hearing, the former Minister of Youth was placed in police custody, a measure requested by the investigating judge as part of his judicial delegation.

Pape Malick Ndour is being prosecuted for criminal association, money laundering and embezzlement of public funds.

The charges against him concern two amounts: 40,760,512 CFA francs for the return of retention money before final acceptance of the work; 2,273,868,494 CFA francs for undocumented payments.

These proceedings follow a supplementary indictment issued by the prosecutor of the Financial Judicial Pool. This indictment is based on an expert report prepared as part of the judicial proceedings initiated regarding the management of Prodac.

Notable element: according to our sources, Pape Malick Ndour was initially uninvolved in this procedure and only discovered the existence of this expert report at the time of his hearing at the DIC.

Unless there is a change of plans, Pape Malick Ndour will be presented to the investigating judge this Friday.
