Pédophilie et actes contre nature : 20 ans de réclusion criminelle requis contre le surveillant d'un internat coranique
Ousmane Fall, a supervisor at a Koranic boarding school in Tivaouane and originally from Dakar, is being prosecuted for pedophilia and acts against nature. He is accused of raping five students aged 7 to 10. The events took place in 2022 in Tivaouane.
According to information shared in court, the defendant had already been sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment and then pardoned after 17 years of detention. Upon his release, he settled in Tivaouane and was hired as a guard at the prison.
The case was revealed by a school official after student A. Ndiaye refused to pray and confided that he had been sexually assaulted by Ousmane Fall. Other children subsequently reported similar incidents, stating that the supervisor threatened them with a machete to prevent them from speaking out.
Appearing before the Criminal Chamber of the High Court of Thiès on Tuesday, Ousmane Fall denied the accusations, claiming they were motivated by disputes with the children's parents and that the alleged facts were false.
"I had asked student A. Ndiaye to sweep the room. He didn't like that, so he went and told his father that I had committed sexual acts on him. His father came to confront me. These are false accusations. I had a dispute with the fathers of these children, which is why they pinned these accusations on me. I only know Mr. Lèye, Mr. Konaté, and A. Ndiaye. I don't know how the names of the other children came into this case," the defendant confided.
He stated that no one caught him committing such acts against a child. Ousmane Fall finally broke down and burst into tears.
The victim, A. Ndiaye, stated during the preliminary investigation that Ousmane had asked him to sweep the room before telling the other children to leave. The supervisor had then told him to lie down before climbing on top of him and rubbing his genitals against his buttocks. Mr. Konaté explained that he had suffered the same acts in the supervisor's room.
The public prosecutor stated that the facts were consistent. He emphasized that at least five students had reported being victims of Ousmane Fall's actions. And even though the defendant did not sodomize the victims, he did rub his genitals against their buttocks. He requested a 20-year prison sentence.
