PJF : Maodo Malick Mbaye auditionné au fond ce mercredi
After 9 months and 20 days of provisional detention, the former Director General of Anamo, Maodo Malick Mbaye, will be heard this Wednesday, May 13, by the judge of the second investigating chamber of the Financial Judicial Pool (Pjf).
The newspaper L'Observateur, which broke the story, notes that he is being prosecuted on particularly serious charges: criminal conspiracy, fraud, forgery and use of forged documents, money laundering, and the alleged embezzlement of public funds amounting to nearly 610 million CFA francs. His defense team, including lawyer Oumar Youm, had intensified its efforts in recent weeks to secure this confrontation, denouncing what it considered an abnormally long wait.
Beyond the criminal aspect, notes the newspaper of the Future Media Group, the case also has a humanitarian dimension. The same source emphasizes that medical examinations concluded there was an "incompatibility" between the former CEO's state of health and detention, thus reinforcing the urgency of this hearing for the continuation of the proceedings.
