Pout : 10 ans de réclusion criminelle requis contre un carreleur pour viol sur une femme divorcée

Tile setter I. Ndao appeared before the criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court on Monday, February 23. He is being prosecuted for rape, collection of personal data, and quackery. The alleged events took place in 2023 in Pout.

According to the indictment, the defendant allegedly sexually assaulted N. Fall, a divorced woman and mother of three, before filming her after threatening her with a gun. The accused is also accused of using mystical practices to lure the victim to his home.

In court, I. Ndao categorically denied the allegations. He maintained that the complainant was his girlfriend and that the accusations stemmed from a financial dispute. According to his version of events, the victim managed a tontine (a type of savings and loan association) worth 350,000 CFA francs, from which he was supposed to benefit. "She accused me to avoid giving me the tontine money," he stated.

For her part, N. Fall gave a detailed account of the events. She explained that the defendant had contacted her to say he had noticed abnormal things about her, mentioning "farou rap" which, according to him, would prevent her from remaining in a marriage long-term. He allegedly offered her mystical baths and insisted that she come to his home to collect them.

The victim stated that once at the residence, the accused led her to his bedroom after locking the door. She alleges that she was assaulted, then threatened with a gun before being forced to have sex. She also stated that she was filmed without her knowledge and that the accused threatened to release the footage if she refused to submit again.

In his closing argument, the public prosecutor stated that the facts were established. He emphasized that the victim's status as a divorced woman and mother could explain the absence of visible injuries. According to the prosecution, the plaintiff's honor and dignity had been severely damaged. He requested a 10-year prison sentence for I. Ndao.

The verdict is expected on March 23, 2026.
