Viol et actes contre nature : l'apprenti chauffeur T. Sow condamné à 10 ans de réclusion criminelle
The 25-year-old apprentice driver, T. Sow, learned his fate this Wednesday. Prosecuted for rape and unnatural acts against a 13-year-old boy, he was sentenced by the criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court to 10 years' imprisonment.
Accused of sexually assaulting young E. Dia, son of his boss, he was tried on Monday, March 9, 2026 for events dating back to September 2023 in Pout.
According to the indictment, T. Sow was caught in the act by the victim's grandfather. The grandfather stated that he went to the field after noticing that the child was late returning home. The witness testified that he saw the boy being undressed by the defendant, who then climbed on top of him. When T. Sow sensed his presence, he fled, pulling his trousers back up.
In court, the defendant rejected the accusations, claiming it was a conspiracy orchestrated by the victim's grandfather, whom he described as his "enemy." Confronted with the fact that he had previously confessed to the investigators and the examining magistrate, T. Sow stated that he had been forced to confess under duress.
The public prosecutor had determined that the defendant was guilty of the charges. He emphasized the presence of a medical certificate attesting to trauma to the victim's anus and the possibility of anal penetration. He therefore requested a 10-year prison sentence for the defendant.
