Recherché par la police : la curieuse réaction de Ama Baldé
Ama Baldé is adamant: he is not the subject of any wanted notice. The wrestler states that he is not staying in France to escape justice, but rather for medical treatment. "I am not wanted by the police, I have not received a summons. If the police need me, I will respond without hesitation," swore the Pikinenois in comments made from France and reported by L'AS.
Ama Baldé is cited in a case of theft and possession of Indian hemp in which his nephew named Julo is implicated. Arriving to pick up the young man at the wrestler's family home in Pikine, the police officers encountered Falaye Baldé's son.
The latter had opposed the arrest of the accused, injuring one of the officers before threatening them with reprisals if they set foot in his home again, according to the investigators' version. The police officers had taken their leave before returning with reinforcements. In the meantime, Ama Baldé, his brother Pathé Baldé, and Julo had vanished.
The wrestler's brother would later be arrested and imprisoned. Giving his version of events, Ama Baldé blamed the police. "I was only passing by the house to pick up my passport, which I had left with my mother. These men didn't identify themselves as police officers," he points out. "No card, no police vehicle. An altercation ensued, and I left. If they had come respectfully, I would have handed over the wanted person myself."
