Escroquerie : Un émigré accuse son ami de l’avoir grugé de 9 millions de FCFA après des bains mystiques
A fraud case involving the sum of 9 million FCFA pits T. Diop against A. Thiaw, his long-time friend.
In the dock of the Thiès court for flagrant offenses, the plaintiff, A. Thiaw, stated that he had just returned from Italy when he confided his personal difficulties to T. Diop. The latter allegedly offered him mystical baths, claiming he could help him overcome his problems.
The victim claims that after using these baths, she fell under the influence of the accused, who regularly demanded money from her. According to A. Thiaw, T. Diop led her to believe he would put her in touch with marabouts to perform prayers on her behalf.
He also claimed that his friend had asked him for 6 million CFA francs to obtain a visa for England, arguing that his uncle, a member of the Ndiéguène family from Keur Mame Elhadj, had connections within the British embassy and could therefore facilitate the trip. The plaintiff thus sought 15 million CFA francs in damages.
For his part, the defendant admits to having received money from the plaintiff, but denies any accusation of fraud related to the travel project. He maintains that the sums received were intended exclusively for the victim's mystical treatments.
"When he returned from Italy, he confided in me that he had health problems. I decided to help him by finding him mystical baths at the home of a marabout named Thioub, who lives in the Diakhao district of Thiès," he said.
The public prosecutor determined that the fraud charges were substantiated. He also considered that the charge of quackery could have been brought in this case, due to the mystical baths administered by the accused to the victim. He therefore requested a six-month prison sentence for T. Diop.
The verdict is expected soon.

Mon pere nous avait mis en garde contre ces gens et genres de pratiques. Si tu es musulman et tu as des problemes, fais les deux rakas de nafila nocturne et soumets ton probleme a Allah, Il est le seul qui peut resoudre tes difficultes et impasses.
En tout cas, moi je crois fortement que tout ce qui m'arrive dans la vie, c'est la volonte de Allah du moment que je fais de mon mieux pour faire et rester dans le droit chemin.
