Urban security: why Thierno Lô's hearing following Mary Teuw Niane's complaint was postponed

On the instructions of the public prosecutor, via a formal referral, the Dakar prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, entrusted to the Urban Security Unit (SU), against former minister Thierno Lô. The investigation concerns alleged acts of defamation, spreading false news, and insulting an authority exercising all or part of the prerogatives of the President of the Republic, reports L'Observateur.

The same source recalls that during a television broadcast, Thierno Lô stated that Mary Teuw Niane, minister and chief of staff to the President of the Republic, had discreetly approached former President Macky Sall to support his candidacy for the position of Secretary-General of the UN.

Already questioned by investigators, Bassirou Diomaye Faye's associate refutes these allegations, which he considers unfounded and damaging to his honor, believing that they aim to discredit him in the exercise of his state functions.

Summoned by the SU on Tuesday, Thierno Lô was unable to appear. His hearing was postponed due to the death of a close relative, according to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias.

Un simple démenti et le tour est joué. Marie teuw a voulu plaire à ses adversaires d’hier et pourtant Macky l’avait honoré, mais bon les masques tombent un à un et nos compatriotes ne sont pas dupes.

Soyons sérieux, en d'autres termes, Thierno Lo (qui pourtant est un homme mesuré) a taillé à Mary Teuw Niane un costard de traitre. Là, un démenti ne suffit pas, parce que c'est la parole de l'un contre celle de l'autre. Maintenant, au tribunal Thierno Lo aura l'obligation de rapporter les preuves ce qu'il dit. Parce que comme disent les wolofs, "Saï saï waxul deug wayé yaxeu nab xel".
