TAMBA : condamné à 3 ans de prison ferme, le procès en appel du fils de l'ex-maire renvoyé au 28 mars
The appeal trial between businessman Ndiaye Samb of Koussanar and Mamadou Korka Ba, son of the former mayor of Tambacounda, has been called before the Tambacounda Court of Appeal. However, Mr. Ba will have to wait. The court has postponed the case until March 28.
Mamadou Korka Ba had been tried before the correctional court of the Tambacounda High Court.
Found guilty of intentional assault and battery, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison in addition to a heavy fine of 30 million FCFA which he will have to pay to the civil party.
In this case, Mamadou Korka Ba, whose unsavory reputation inspires fear and mistrust, is accused of having brutally assaulted Ndiaye Samb, a businessman from Koussanar. According to sources close to the investigation, he allegedly inflicted injuries on him before stealing 9 million CFA francs.
Faced with suspicions of collusion with certain men in uniform, the prosecutor at the High Court of Tambacounda had removed the case from the central police station to entrust it to the gendarmerie.
Following a complaint filed by Ndiaye Samb, supported by a medical certificate confirming a 25-day temporary incapacity for work, the gendarmes of the local brigade arrested the accused. After being held in custody, he was brought before a judge and remanded in custody.
