THIÈS : L'ivrogne C. Sow vole un tissu pour acheter de l'alcool et prend un mois ferme
Twenty-five-year-old metalworker C. Sow should be trying to earn a living from his trade instead of resorting to theft to make ends meet. To buy alcohol, this young man broke into a house, even entering A. Sarr's bedroom, to steal a piece of fabric.
While attempting to escape with the fabric he had concealed under his boubou, he was apprehended by the victim and taken into police custody. Charged with theft, C. Sow was remanded in custody.
In the dock of the Thiès court, the defendant admitted to the facts. He then claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol.
Considering the facts to be consistent, the public prosecutor requested the application of the law.
Metalworker C. Sow was found guilty of theft, sentenced to one month in prison and ordered to pay a fine of 50,000 FCFA.
