Thiès : Poursuivi pour viol, le jakartaman A. Ndiaye relaxé après 3 ans de détention préventive
Motorcycle taxi driver A. Ndiaye learned his fate this Monday, March 9, from the criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court. He had been in custody since 2023 on charges of rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor, S. Niang, who was under 16 years old. Tried on Monday, February 23, 2026, A. Ndiaye was acquitted on all charges due to reasonable doubt. The chamber stated that it lacked sufficient evidence to convict the defendant.
In court, A. Ndiaye denied the charges against him, arguing that he had only driven the young girl to the address given in the Nasrou neighborhood before leaving. "I had never met her before. She asked me to drive her to someone's house, and I dropped her off at the door before leaving. I never had sexual relations with her, and no one caught me with her," he told the judge, in the absence of the plaintiff.
The public prosecutor, in his indictment, had dismissed the allegations of rape and pedophilia, but had found A. Ndiaye guilty of abduction of a minor and had requested three years of imprisonment.
