Thiès : Un militaire condamné pour le vol de 20 millions FCFA à son oncle
The soldier stationed in Kaolack, who was tried for theft by the Thiès court, learned his fate this Monday. He was found guilty and sentenced to two months in prison.
He is accused of stealing 20 million FCFA from his uncle. The defendant, who was his wealthy uncle's right-hand man, had taken the key to his uncle's room to gain access to his belongings without his knowledge. He initially stole 10 million FCFA, then another 10 million FCFA a few days later, bringing the total to 20 million FCFA.
In court on February 9, the defendant admitted the facts and claimed to have compensated the plaintiff.
