Thilmakha : Un berger démasqué au marché hebdomadaire avec des chèvres volées
Shepherd M. Bâ is being prosecuted for cattle theft. He is accused of stealing five goats from Moctar. The incident occurred in the village of Thilmakha, in the Tivaouane department.
Appearing before the court for flagrant offenses on Wednesday, February 25, the defendant denied the accusations. He explained that he had been found in possession of three goats he had bought from a man named A. Bâ, who had come to his home to sell him the animals for 110,000 FCFA. The defendant stated that he was unaware the goats had been stolen and that the seller had fled when the matter came to light.
For his part, the plaintiff, Moctar, stated that his five goats disappeared on February 2nd while his son was leading them into the bush. "I went looking for them and found them at the weekly market in Thilmakha in the possession of Mr. Bâ, who was preparing to resell them. I found three goats, whereas I had lost five," he declared. He is claiming 300,000 FCFA in damages.
The public prosecutor has requested the application of the law.
The verdict is expected soon.
