Viol suivi de grossesse : 4 ans de prison requis contre l'accusé, la mère de la victime sollicite la clémence du juge
The young welder, MD, accused by his girlfriend, MN, is on trial for rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor. Eighteen years old at the time of the events, which took place in 2022 in Thiès, MD was dating MN, who was then 16. Their relationship lasted four years, and MD allegedly forced MN to have sex with him until she became pregnant.
When the girl's parents learned that their daughter was four months pregnant, the result of an alleged rape by MD, they filed a police report. Charged with rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor, the welder was remanded in custody.
In the dock of the Criminal Chamber of the Thiès High Court, MD denied the rape charge but admitted to having consensual sexual relations with the victim on several occasions. "She was my girlfriend. We dated for four years. She came to my place as I went to hers. We had sexual relations on several occasions. And when she became pregnant, I admitted to being the father. I never forced her to have sexual relations. She was always consenting," the defendant stated.
Before pointing out that the girl often visits him in prison and sometimes sends him money.
The girl, MN, admitted that the accused was her boyfriend, but that he had forced her to have sex. "He took me to a garage in the Sampathé neighborhood at night, at 2 a.m., and forced me to have sex. He slept with me twice before I became pregnant," she confided.
The mother of the plaintiff forgave the defendant, before asking the court for leniency for his release.
The public prosecutor found the defendant guilty of the charges and requested a four-year prison sentence.
