Yacine Fall sur le décès de l’étudiant Abdoulaye Ba : «Je garantis un processus rigoureux de vérité et de justice, sans faiblesse ni protection. »
During the government press briefing, the Minister of Justice expressed her sorrow following the death of the second-year medical student, which occurred on university campus. In light of this loss, the authorities expressed their condolences to the deceased's family, friends, fellow students, and the entire university community.
According to Yacine Fall, "nothing can justify the death of a student in an environment meant to be dedicated to knowledge." "University campuses must remain spaces of safety, respect, and protection of human life," she said.
She adds that "from the first hours following the events, the public prosecutor's office was seized in order to shed full light on this case and identify those responsible. The authorities have pledged to the Senegalese people to guarantee a rigorous process of truth and justice, without weakness or protection."
The Minister of Justice stressed the need for collective mobilization and sincere, constructive and respectful dialogue between all stakeholders, in the best interests of the nation.
