Médias : Le Soleil lance un nouveau journal
The Senegalese Press and Publishing Company (SSPP) is innovating. The public group, publisher of the general news daily Le Soleil, launched a weekly sports magazine this Monday. The title, "Le Soleil des Sports" (The Sports Sun), is a 16-page, full-color publication.
The first issue, reviewed by Seneweb, gives pride of place to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026. Eleven pages and the headline are devoted to the event.
Among other things, it includes an editorial that "legitimizes" the Lions' ambition to win a second star on Moroccan soil, an article on Senegalese goalscorers at the AFCON, technical opinions on the "strengths and weaknesses" of Pape Thiaw's team, the national coach, and interviews with El Hadji Diouf and the new president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall.
National sports news occupies the remaining four pages, with the local Ligue 1 championship, basketball, hiking, the Youth Olympic Games and wrestling on the menu.
Le Soleil des Sports is available at newsstands for 100 CFA francs.
