Origines SA réagit après la lettre des délégués : “Aucune entrave aux règles de l’entreprise ne sera tolérée”

Origines SA's management reacted strongly to the circulation on social media of a letter attributed to employee representatives concerning the Abdoulaye Sarr case. The company maintains that this document is based on unfounded accusations and distorts the facts of recent weeks.

According to the Management, Abdoulaye Sarr has, for almost two weeks, refused to carry out the tasks assigned to him, without providing any justification.

"Regarding Friday, November 21, Mr. Sarr was scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour break, in accordance with our production schedule established by the production manager. He took it upon himself to arrive after 3:00 p.m. to announce that he was coming to attend a meeting of which neither the General Management, nor the editorial staff, nor the Head of Personnel, nor the security agents were informed," explains the statement from the company's general management.

The situation worsened when, around 3:00 p.m., several staff members not scheduled for that day's production arrived to try to hold an impromptu meeting in the newsroom. The Editor-in-Chief refused them entry, and it was the editorial department that alerted management to this unexpected gathering.

Despite this refusal, the group proceeded to the company premises to hold their meeting. Abdoulaye Sarr, the only delegate scheduled for that day, arrived at 3:30 p.m. The security guard, noting his delay of more than seven hours and his refusal to clock in, denied him access, in accordance with internal regulations. The company reiterates that any employee arriving more than an hour late without a valid reason is not permitted to join a film set, and that a replacement had already been assigned to his position.

For Management, this is clearly a case of "abandoning his post" disguised as a union initiative: "Who does he think he's fooling? He boycotted his work to come and attend a union meeting when he had abandoned his post," they denounced in their statement.

The General Management also asserts that it has never received any official correspondence confirming the staff representatives' affiliation with SYNPICS. It indicates that it has discussed this matter directly with the union's General Secretary and states that it is still awaiting formal correspondence.

Faced with this situation, Origines SA is categorical: no internal rule will be transgressed, whatever its origin.

"The General Management wishes to clarify that no one, neither an agent nor a union, can obstruct the rules of our institution. It reiterates that it will not yield to any pressure or blackmail," warns the Management.

The company finally asserts that there have never been any relational tensions between the agents and the Management, considering that the recent events are strictly a matter of professional discipline.
