«L’île de Skibidi Tentafruit » : La télé-réalité des fruits qui fait fureur sur TikTok
Imagine a paradise island where anthropomorphic fruits experience love, arguments, and breakups. This is the concept behind "Skibidi Tentafruit Island," an AI-generated reality TV show that's currently taking TikTok by storm.
Since its launch in March, the account has already accumulated more than 3 million subscribers and each episode gets more than 10 million views.
But behind the success lies controversy. Some jokes are sometimes deemed sexist or racist. According to an expert in digital practices, "the risk is believing you're watching something nice and harmless, when in reality, there are sometimes totally nauseating messages hidden behind it."
TikTok, contacted by USA Today, did not respond to the request to remove certain videos. However, TikTok's community guidelines stipulate that all videos created with AI must be clearly identified as such.
However, many Senegalese, especially women, are among the 100 million viewers who have set their sights on Fraisita, Pomito or Bananella, characters in this production inspired by "Temptation Island".
