Rap Galsen : Le message fort de Fata El Presidente à la jeune génération
Invited live by the young rapper Ngaka Blindé, Fata El Presidente, an emblematic figure of Senegalese rap, made an uncompromising assessment of the state and future of Senegalese hip-hop, calling on the new generation to draw on its cultural identity.
Fata El Presidente criticizes the lack of originality in some local productions, judging "classic rap" as the "easiest genre":
"You take any old beat, you copy a flow that's already been used elsewhere, you lay down some well-structured content, and boom... you've got a sound that impresses. But deep down, it's nothing new."
According to him, the essence of Senegalese rap should not lie in imitation. The Senegalese artist possesses a unique asset to sell: "their culture, their rhythm, their identity, their history, the truth of lived experience."
The veteran of Senegalese rap insists on the need for artists to represent their reality and values: "The flow must come from the heart, not just the mouth. We are not bandits, nor drug dealers. We are educated, disciplined, and rooted men and women. And that must be felt in our lyrics, in our posture, in our art."
Fata El Presidente acknowledges his generation's failure to export the identity of the Senegalese Hip-hop movement: "We had the torch but we failed. Because when Daara J or PBS traveled the world, they didn't even talk about Senegalese Hip-hop. They didn't sell our movement, our essence."
Today, he believes that this opportunity can no longer be missed. It is imperative that the younger generation restores Senegalese rap to its rightful place, not by copying, but by innovating, and not by imitating, but by representing Senegalese identity.

Aucune cohérence….. et toujours cet éternel débat insensé pour critiquer les autres alors que tu ne supportes pas des critiques. Sur ta page fb tu insultes des gens, aucune hauteur , aucune discipline.
N’est ce pas que tu prônais rap business et rap mbalax alors que peux tu reprocher à Dara J et au PBS.
Il faut au moins les féliciter d’avoir au moins exporté et représenté le hop hop galsen à un moment crucial et depuis lors presk aucun autre groupe n’a fait ce qu’ils ont fait . C’est un travail collectif, faut pas tout mettre sur le dos de ces groupes que tu cites et qui ont bcp fait. Et toi qu’as tu innové.
Moi je suis le rap galasen depuis 1996 étant tout jeune élevé jusqu’à présent presque la cinquantaine , tu es toujours dans des polémiques et critiques inutiles. Un xuman, un bibson, un fou malade , un makhtar, Iba etc ne tiendront jamais ces propos à mon avis .
Ce type est un escroc et il est fénéant.
