Incitation aux agressions : Senegal7 exprime ses regrets et retire la vidéo
The editorial staff of Senegal7 published a statement clarifying the situation following the release of a controversial video during a vox pop about the eviction operations in Dakar.
In this press release entitled "Controversial remarks made during a street interview: clarification from Senegal7", the editorial staff expresses its regret after the broadcast of images in which a speaker made remarks calling for aggression.
According to the statement, journalist Falil Gadio, author of the report, immediately corrected the person concerned and drew his attention to the seriousness of his statements at the very moment they were made.
Senegal7 acknowledges being the source of the video recording, while specifying that it "in no way participated in its amplification on social networks".
Given the sensitivity of the subject matter and the interpretations it has generated, the editorial team has decided to remove the video from all its platforms. However, a copy has been retained and can be made available to the authorities if necessary.
The media outlet concludes its statement by reaffirming "its commitment to responsible journalism, respect for the law and the promotion of a calm public debate".
