Clash avec Kylian Mbappé: le rappeur Orelsan calme le jeu
Rapper Orelsan, at the heart of a clash with star footballer Kylian Mbappé over a line from his new album, preferred to calm things down this weekend, explaining that he did not want to "respond in the heat of the moment" to this controversy.
"I prefer to think about it rather than answer in the heat of the moment," said Orelsan during a signing session in Caen on Saturday afternoon, quoted by the daily newspaper Ouest-France, which did not specify whether it was a question from a journalist or a fan.
The controversy started with the track "La petite voix" (The Little Voice), which appears on his album released on Friday. The Norman rapper engages in a kind of exacerbated self-criticism, in which the line "tu va sabour ton ville comme les Mbappé" (you're going to sink your city like the Mbappés) is inserted: a reference to the SM Caen football club, owned by Kylian Mbappé since the summer of 2024 and which was relegated to National (third division) the following spring.
"You are welcome to +save+ the city you love so much Orelsan," the footballer retorted on Friday on X, in response to a message quoting this song and its criticism of the Mbappé family.
"Ps: The guy kept begging us to let him in with 1% without paying because he didn't have a penny but to have the right image of the little guy from Normandy," added the Real Madrid striker.
