Duel des Divas : Titi et Daba Sèye se rendent coup pour coup
In recent weeks, the Senegalese music scene has been marked by open tension between singers Titi and Daba Sèye, following a series of media appearances and reactions on social networks.
The conflict is largely linked to a musical release and video by the trio Viviane, Aïda Samb and Daba Sèye, published in December 2025. Titi's reaction to this project was interpreted by many observers as a challenge or provocation towards her colleagues.
Titi claimed in a televised interview that she possessed a musical "striking force" capable of "pulverizing" her rivals, a statement that ignited online debate.
Daba Sèye responded publicly, adopting a Wolof metaphor: "Bala nga deub, faw nga meune togou" (Before claiming, one must master), aimed at criticizing Titi's claim to dominate the scene.
She also affirmed that she fully accepts her collaboration with Viviane Chidid and Aïda Samb, rejecting the criticisms as unfounded.
The clash spread to social media, where fans of the artists clashed virtually, amplifying the controversy and dividing opinions between support and criticism.
This Wednesday, January 14, during his concert at Place de la Nation, on the occasion of the semi-final between Senegal and Egypt, Titi responded to Daba Sèye.
During her highly attended show at Place de la Nation, singer Titi took advantage of her face-to-face interaction with the public to respond, in a barely veiled manner, to the remarks of Daba Sèye, in the context of the clash that is currently shaking up the Senegalese music scene.
Addressing the crowd, Titi uttered this phrase in Wolof, interpreted by many as a direct and deliberate reply: "Sopil sa djiko dji soo beugué ame lou bakh" (Change your behavior if you want to get something good).
This statement, delivered to the applause of the public, was perceived as a firm but controlled message, without explicitly mentioning his rival, true to Titi's style which often favours indirect barbs rather than frontal confrontation.
The clip quickly went viral on social media. The singer's fans saw it as an elegant yet sharp response, while others felt the clash had now taken on a public dimension that was difficult to ignore.
This new episode confirms that the rivalry between Titi and Daba Sèye continues to fuel debates and comments, far beyond the music scene.
