Born prematurely, the little girl had just returned home after spending nearly ten months in a neonatal intensive care unit.

Snoop Dogg is in mourning. Cori, the 54-year-old rapper's daughter, announced the death of her daughter Codi on Monday, January 26, at only ten months old. She had announced the child's premature birth on social media a few months prior.

“On Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori Broadus wrote on Instagram on Saturday, sharing a black and white photo of herself holding her baby. Shortly after this devastating news, Snoop Dogg also used the social network to express his support for his family, sharing a photo of himself with his 26-year-old daughter and two sons, accompanied by a heart emoji and hands clasped in prayer.

“My princess arrived at 6 months. I cried my eyes out, constantly comparing myself to others, blaming myself for not being able to give her everything she needed,” she wrote on Instagram after her daughter’s birth. “But no matter what happens, God always shows me his support! My little girl was born today at 25 weeks and she is simply wonderful! Thank you God for this gift,” the grateful 26-year-old added.

Six months after her birth, in September, Cori revealed that her daughter was hospitalized in neonatal intensive care, before announcing in early January that Codi had finally been able to leave the hospital. "She's home," she announced, again on her Instagram account. "Thank you for all your prayers, all your messages, all your love. God heard them all," she rejoiced.

This isn't the first time Snoop Dogg has been affected by the loss of one of his grandchildren. In 2019, his son Corde Broadus welcomed his third child, a baby boy, who died just ten days after his birth.
