Jennifer Lopez refoulée d’une boutique Chanel à Istanbul
Jennifer Lopez is enjoying a moment of solitude in Istanbul. This week, the singer was denied access to a Chanel boutique in the Turkish metropolis because the store had reached capacity. Her global fame, therefore, meant she didn't get a free pass for luxury shopping.
The scene took place in Istinye Park, one of Istanbul's most luxurious shopping malls, where the singer was shopping before her concert. When Jennifer Lopez tried to enter the Chanel store, she was stopped by a security guard who told her the store had reached capacity.
No offense to the global star. According to local media, the singer simply replied, "Okay, no problem." She then walked away to another store. When the luxury store staff invited her back in a little later, Jennifer Lopez declined.
Shopping at the competition
The singer didn't let the incident spoil her shopping spree. She spent more than three hours at other luxury boutiques in the area, including the French brand Celine and the Turkish brand Beymen. She reportedly spent tens of thousands of dollars there.
Jennifer Lopez was in Turkey for a concert. On August 5, she performed as part of her “Up All Night” tour. At the end of July, she was already in the country, where she gave a concert in Antalya and celebrated her 56th birthday. “You are all a true gift! Thank you for all your beautiful birthday wishes,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
