"Ashly Robinson was found unconscious in her villa and taken to the hospital, where her death was confirmed a few hours later," her family said in a statement released Sunday.
Her family lamented the lack of information surrounding her death and demanded a transparent investigation. " Her passing makes no sense ," said her father, Harry Robinson. "She was always smiling. She loved being in front of the camera." According to initial findings, local authorities initially indicated that Ashlee Jenae had attempted suicide.
However, the police are still investigating the possibility of murder. While he is not formally suspected of any wrongdoing at this time, his fiancé, 45-year-old Joe McCann, is currently being questioned as a witness, and his passport has been confiscated pending the results of the autopsy.
The police chief of North Unguja in Zanzibar, Benedict Mapujira, told the BBC that the couple had a misunderstanding, which reportedly prompted the management of the Zuri Zanzibar to separate them into different rooms during their stay. The deceased woman's family also reported that Joe McCann took nearly 11 hours to inform them of the situation, "without providing many details."
